The prisoner’s arrival date at Mauthausen was noted on the registry office cards. In contrast to the registry office cards of Buchenwald, the cards for male prisoners of Mauthausen do not mention the admitting authority or the previous concentration camp from which the prisoner had been sent. The registry office cards for female prisoners, on the other hand, often mention the concentration camp they had been in before. In most cases, it was Ravensbrück concentration camp.
