On the second line, camp employees noted the person’s marital status (verw. for verwitwet or widowed, verh. for verheiratet or married, led. for ledig  or single, and gesch. for geschieden or divorced) as well as their religion. If the person was emigrating together with their family, then their parents, spouse or children can also be listed as family members (Fam.-Mitgl. or Familienmitglieder).
