The registration cards were created at time when DPs were no longer the only people emigrating via Munich-Freimann. Other groups of people, including “ethnic Germans” (Volksdeutsche or VD), also stayed in the Funkkaserne until they emigrated. On a transport that left Munich-Freimann in May 1956 and traveled via Bremen-Lesum to Australia, there were 191 Germans among the total of 252 emigrants.
