DPs received clothing and other items in the camps if they no longer possessed these things themselves. The items issued to them can be identified here. Each number or mark in a box represents a piece of clothing or another item: 1 stands for shoes or boots, 3 for trousers, 17 for handkerchiefs. The items were noted once on the DP 2 card and then again on the back of the DP 3 card. You can find a complete overview here. On most DP 2 cards, however, these fields were left blank.
