In this example, the person in question was imprisoned under prisoner number 50055 in the Mauthausen concentration camp and its subcamp Gusen and under prisoner number 8408 in the Dachau concentration camp.

With regard to the prisoners of war and forced labourers, the card index contains no information on places of detention or deployment. Only the prisoner of war number is mentioned where applicable.
