On the back of the cards, ITS employees stamped the date on which the cards were placed in the postwar card file. In this case, “AUG 27 1954” stands for August 27, 1954. Other DP cards in the postwar card file are also stamped on the back and initialed by the responsible employees. All of the cards from this card file examined thus far have dates between 1953 and 1954.
