Over the years, information was added to the index card for Lodewijk Arnold Houthakker. The typewritten information is from the Jewish Council in Amsterdam. The red “B” is also from the war period, representing camp Barneveld, where “Protektionsjuden” (protected Jews) were housed at times. A red “V” here indicates the Herzogenbusch concentration camp, also known as Kamp Vught.

After Houtakker’s arrival in Westerbork on September 29, 1943, the information written in fountain pen was added. All other information, handwritten with ballpoint pen, pencil and red pen, is from the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) and was added after the war. The red stamp “R” was also added after the war. This stamp indicates that the person survived and has information about the fate of other Jews. The “R” stands for “Representant” (Representative).
