After the war, the company Fluss- und Schwerspatwerke Pforzheim indicated that it had returned work books to its civilian forced laborers. How often this occurred is not clear today. But it does explain the fact that work books, as well as other documents, are preserved in the records of Soviet screening and filtration camps.
