Random checks showed that the civilian forced laborers named on the Messerschmitt cards were registered in Augsburg. Ewa Mendel, for example, is recorded both on a Messerschmitt card, and on a list drawn up after the war by Messerschmitt AG in Augsburg. Civilian forced laborers were presumably deployed to the same factories as the concentration camp prisoners for whom there are Messerschmitt cards: Augsburg-Pfersee and Leonberg. Research has confirmed that forced labor took place in both these locations.
