The administration of Dachau concentration camp created an individual registration form for some prisoners. This three-page form listed personal information about the prisoner’s family and military service as well as a detailed physical description of the person. There are spaces for describing the prisoner’s clothing (“elegant, sloppy, simple”) and whether their voice was high or low. A registration form with the same questions was used in the Hinzert concentration camp for “[prisoners] known to the police for political [or] espionage activities” (1.1.13.2/449687/ITS Digital Archive, Arolsen Archives).
