The Arolsen Archives have complete lists for more than 3,781 people from Buchenwald whose release was handled by the board of review. On May 3 alone, 145 cases were processed for Polish, Russian, Czech, Greek and Italian prisoners, among others. From May 1 to 9, and again from June 19 to 25, the board of review approved the release of Austrians, Belgians, one prisoner from England, French prisoners, Hungarians, one person from Luxembourg, Poles, Romanians, Russians and one person from Switzerland. From June 19 to 25, 1945, most of the cases handled by the board of review were for Polish and German people who had been in Buchenwald concentration camp as political prisoners.
