Adam Kozenecki died in Sachsenhausen concentration camp on August 2, 1944, at the age of 41. Over two months later, his wife was notified of his death by a telegram from the camp commandant. Since Kozenecki was Polish, no death certificate was issued for him, in keeping with a decree from 1941. The family also did not receive his possessions after his death, as the property of Polish prisoners was being confiscated by this time.
