On account of “bartering,” which was forbidden, Johann Bos was denied his midday rations for three days, was not allowed to smoke for four weeks and had to perform penal labor for five days. This penal order was issued in 1940 in the Flossenbürg concentration camp. Severe physical punishments such as beatings were not listed on this document, but they could occur.
