Though individual emigrations sometimes took place, meaning that a DP emigrated alone, most people departed together in what were known as group resettlements. There are usually two different lists in the Arolsen Archives for people who departed via the Funkkaserne resettlement center. The first list, for example, names all 197 people who traveled to Bremen from the Funkkaserne on April 23, 1952. Everyone who emigrated from there can also be found on the passenger list of the ship they set sail on. The EC number, which is also noted on the registration cards from the Funkkaserne, helps to clearly identify the people.
