The CM/1 applications had to be filled out in all western occupation zones. The forms looked slightly different in the respective zones, but their structure and purpose were the same. The CM/1 form from the French occupation zone can be easily identified by the title Demande d’Assistance (“request for help”). Like the forms in the British zone and the form used in Italy, the last page of this form was used by the eligibility officer to record why the applicants were in Germany and why they did not want to return home. Then the decision of the applicants was noted: did they want to return, stay in Germany or emigrate?

В e-Guide различают основные карточки и их варианты. Основанием является частичное отличие исполнения документов одного типа, что может быть причиной их существенных различий.
Основными карточками в e-Guide считаются стандартные документы, которые чаще всего использовались в концлагерях, лагерях для перемещённых лиц и для регистрации подневольных рабочих, а также в которых содержится большой объём информации. Но в Архивах Арользена есть также варианты карточек, которые использовались в тех же целях, но выглядят по-другому. Это объясняется разными причинами: Иногда в концлагерях и лагерях для перемещённых лиц использовались не стандартные карточки, а карточки собственного изготовления. Часто причиной было то, что сначала использовались собственные карточки и формуляры, а уже потом появились унифицированные.
